The Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, 2012 is back from December 3rd – 12th with some great screenings of new, classic and independent films. The 9th edition of the festival at the New Beverly Cinema, Los Angeles, puts on the table, their biggest spread so far.
There’ll be more than 70 films which include the American premiere of Bailout: The Age of Greed and the world premieres of the restoration project for Manos: The Hands of Fate and the restored “1960s and 1970s Films of Tinto Brass with screenings of films like La Vacanza and Dropout after 30 years! These are extended versions with unseen footage from archives and documentaries on their making will be screened and there’s a promo trailer out too. Tinto Brass and Alexander Tuschinski will be present for discussions and to answer questions.
Along with commemorating the veterans, HRIFF gives emerging filmmakers a platform by tradition – screening independent shorts, documentaries and films and presenting awards to promising independent filmmakers.
The festival also convenes celebrity panels for Q&A sessions and talks. You see well known artists like Hilary Duff (Gossip Girl, Lizzie McGuire), Alex Meraz (Twilight), John Robinson (Lords of Dogtown) and Hungarian Ambassador Balazs Bokor here.
